The Pavilion at Castle Green

A unique space to hire in the heart of Hereford

When the Friends of Castle Green took over the lease on the building on Castle Green, previously the council training centre and art college, public consultation renamed the building The Castle Green Pavilion.

The Pavilion is a Georgian building on medieval foundations and has had a variety of uses and misuses over the years, suffering from some inappropriate development during the 20th century. In 2022, we were successful in being granted Stronger Towns funding of £1.5 million to completely refurbish the building and restore it to its former glory. The renovations removed the unsympathetic 1960’s additions, reinstated the Georgian facade and created a Cafe, restoring the Pavilion to reflect its historic past and re-creating it for use as a sustainable community asset.

It provides a home for Hereford’s Youth Canoe Club and is a community space to hire for individuals, businesses and groups. Weekly yoga classes, speech and drama sessions, rehearsals, meetings and parties regularly take place at the building.

The building is fully accessible to all floors.
